Open Day Tour.jpg

2020 Open Days will be held on Thursday 2nd and Friday 3rd July

The Department of Engineering Open Days provide an opportunity for prospective students to visit the Department, see and experience the facilities, and chat with current students and staff.

The 2019 Open Day programme

The 2020 Open Days will follow a similar pattern to 2019.  Friday is a repeat of Thursday.

The Open Day starts at 1pm, there is no access to the Department before this time and there is no space for queuing. There are events all afternoon and there is no need to arrive at 1pm. We recommend that you use the morning to visit colleges if you arrive early.

Please note that this is the only time for prospective students to see the Department. Individual tours and visits are not possible at any other time.

To attend the Engineering Department Open Days you do not need to book with the Department, but you must have booked to attend the Cambridge Open Days or a College Open Day on the same dates.

If you will need extra assistance to access our facilities or with emergency evacuation, please email safety-office@eng.cam.ac.uk.

Please do not bring large bags to our Open Day, we have no facility to store them. Any unattended bags will be removed or destroyed.

An Open Day is not an interview, it is an informal opportunity to find out about the Department and our course.  Wear comfortable, cool clothes, shoes it is easy to walk in and bring a water bottle.  Remember to eat sensibly on the day.

There is no parking available at our busy city centre site and parking in central Cambridge is very expensive.  We strongly suggest you use the Park and Ride buses http://cambridgeparkandride.info/ or, if you are travelling along the A14 from the west, the Guided Busway https://www.thebusway.info/.
