The Department of Engineering is located close to the city centre and within easy reach of the majority of the Colleges. It backs on to open fields by the River Cam. Most of the teaching, with the exception of the Manufacturing Engineering course in years three and four, is carried out at the main site.
The Alan Reece Building for the Institute for Manufacturing, the Schofield Geotechnical Centre, the Whittle Turbomachinery Laboratory, the Electrical Engineering Division, the interdisciplinary Centre for Nanoscience and the new Civil Engineering Building are all located on the developing site at West Cambridge.
All laboratories are easily reached by bicycle, the most efficient mode of transport around Cambridge, and the one favoured by the majority of our students.
