There are also opportunities to acquire other practical skills. For instance, there are voluntary 'Engine Strip and Rebuild', 'Computer Build' and 'Workshop Skills' sessions on offer. A Design Club also enables undergraduates and postgraduates to take part in practical engineering projects in addition to those undertaken during normal teaching. The club has offered projects ranging from building a robot to compete in the Eurobot challenge held each year in France, to designing and constructing a playpark for teenagers in Cambridge using a substantial proportion of re-cycled materials to offset the cost.
